Hello, hello!

Hi there! I’m Quinn Evans, artist and founder of Black Lilac Studio. My husband, Malik, and I started Black Lilac Studio in 2024. With a background in fine art and art history, it brings me so much joy to bring art into spaces and moments as special as weddings.

Painting people has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I am drawn to the way each guest carries their own presence and story, and I love capturing that individuality through watercolor. Portraiture has always felt deeply personal to me, and it even runs in my family — my grandmother was a prolific portrait artist.

After our own wedding in 2022, I discovered the world of live wedding painting, and everything clicked. Combining my love of art with the beauty and emotion of weddings felt like finding the work I was meant to do. With over a decade of experience in figure drawing and painting, I have led workshops, completed commissions, exhibited across the East Coast, and placed work in both private and public collections.

Malik brings warmth, positivity, and charisma to every event, helping guests feel comfortable and making the experience feel seamless and fun.

It is an honor to be part of such memorable celebrations and to witness the wonder and joy that art can bring.
